Over the years where people want to go on holiday has varied according to personal preference but through out the years Cornwall has always been a favourite; not just with people from the UK but many people visiting from abroad. With it being such a popular tourist destination for such a long period of time the activities there are to do in the town and surrounding areas is now more varied than ever before.

The history of Cornwall goes right back to around 4000BC this has been proven because there have been tools found around the area dating back to that period. Many years later the area became very industrial with things such as mining being the major income for most of the population. One industry that is still going in Cornwall but no where near as influential as it once was is fishing. There were many people in the area that relied on fishing as their main in come and while some people still do it isn't as profitable or as reliable as a source of main income.

There are some types of building that are typical of the Cornish area one of the most well known being the thatched roof cottages. There are still many old buildings used as guest houses and bed and breakfasts in the Cornwall area this is because the buildings contribute to the beauty of the area. There are cottages that you can rent out in that are traditional on the exterior but are fully modern on the inside so you still have the picturesque accommodation with all modern necessities.

With Cornwall having some of the best beaches in the UK it is obvious that a lot of the activities available are water sports. There are all types of water sports available from surfing to scuba diving as well as these water sports there are also things such as hiking, golf and horse riding. So with this much choice there is bound to be something that appeals to any one no matter their interests or age.
